Exploring Color & Composition.

Starting in May, I explored painting on larger paper, working with colors in and outside my usual color palette. I want to shake off any expectation I have for my art starting out and explore as much as possible.

I’m still working on my small postcard series, but I’m gradually getting the momentum to work on larger paper. I feel more confident with my painting and brush strokes and it feels really liberating! Since working as a creative professional, I felt like I had almost lost everything I had learn in my art classes in college because I work so much in digital. I always have to remind myself to take things slow, and just because I am forced to work quickly at work, doesn’t mean I have to rush through my art.

I’m so grateful for a creative space where I can feel fully focused in what I want to create. One of the really great things about being in a studio around other people is how much feedback you get from your work and it feels really validating.
